Do you LOVE what you do?

Feb 15, 2023

It’s easy to do your work when you love what you do. And it’s easy to love what you do when you’re making a difference. In 2022, we helped 61 medical professionals find homes in the United States. By partnering with New Story, we funded two homes for underserved families in Latin America. New Story is a nonprofit organization focused on not just building homes for the homeless, but building dignity.

As real estate people, we know the pride and community connection that comes with owning a home. Sharing in the feeling that comes with handing over the keys to a family’s new home is a big part of why we work so hard. But truly, this is something we could do for any potential homebuyer. We focus on serving medical professionals because we understand the long bumpy journey to get where you are and we know that you want to make a difference in the health and lives of others.

Everyone at Curbside feels the same way. We’re committed to find homes for the hardworking people that make a difference in the health of our communities. And using that work to serve the global community. We call our mission “Giving Shelter” because that’s at the heart of what we do. When you purchase a home with a Curbside Realtor Partner, you are taking part in our mission.

A Home Changes Everything.

Home impacts every aspect of life, for every generation. By partnering with locals to build holistic communities, New Story’s work touches on 16 of the 17 UN Sustainable Development Goals. Communities in Mexico have increased their income by 63% since moving into their new homes. Across Mexico and El Salvador, more than 300 women have founded their own businesses since moving out of homelessness.

One in five youth experiencing homelessness has been a victim of sex and labor trafficking or both. When children have guardians under the same roof in a neighborhood of families, they can stay safe and build the future they want. Prior to moving into their new homes, only 14% of families in the Mexico communities we serve had access to consistent and clean water. Now, 100% of them do, reducing illnesses such as diarrhea and cholera.

We are so grateful for a partner that isn’t just building homes—they’re building a pathway out of poverty by investing in the homeowners and the community. Thank you for going on this journey with us! Even just by taking the time to learn more about us, you’re motivating us to do more. Learn more about our impact in Ocuituco, Mexico in 2022.
